I'm working now with a somewhat sonnet
format... trying to express a reality which is actually beyond description.
Here I go - another kick at the can - a finger pointing at the moon, not the moon itself.

APPARATION ON A STORMY NIGHT
I'm sitting here alone, a storm outside,
As flesh and bone all disappear to dust,
I think of all the useless things I tried;
And wonder near the end now what will last.
I chased a woman who eluded me
Amid the dust, noise, frantic in the rain,
Around each corner of the Paris streets
I saw her disappearing by the Seine.
.
Say, " Love can never be controlled!"
The goddess mounts her with a gold halo:
Illuminates the room close as she smiles.
She’s not a lover of earthly climates,
This gorgeous apparition of my dreams;
My love for her exists now beyond time,
She's what is true while all the world just seems.
Sitting at my desk now high upon a cliff,
As sadness and more sorrows come again,
I try lines and realize as I write these riffs:
Not knowing Her, I'd never lift a pen.
